10 Major Problems Facing WWE This Summer

9. Maintaining NXT's Buzz

Pitchforks are at the ready any time it's suggested Shinsuke Nakamura might not be a World Champion before the end of 2017, but it remains to be seen how the Japanese hero fares on the main roster. Success in NXT doesn't guarantee anything on Raw or SmackDown despite what WWE would like people to believe, and it's too early to tell with Nakamura.

One focus this summer must be in ensuring that the developmental brand isn't left picking up the pieces after talent like Shinsuke get called up during the Draft. A fair few names are likely to be called up again, such is the nature of NXT, and it's imperative that WWE don't hurt one of their most exciting brands by plundering it.

NXT has always had tremendous buzz. That deserves to be maintained rather than ruined by elevating talent too quickly or calling them up without a clear game plan. American Alpha would be a fine example of an act that was hot as hell on NXT programming but has cooled significantly (despite a Tag Title reign) on the main roster.
