10 Reasons WWE Are In A Battle With Their Own Fans

9. WWE Is Short-Sighted

WWE has spent decades trying to prove itself as a legitimate entertainment provider, and rival to anything you find on television. As part of Vince McMahon€™s quest to be taken seriously, they even adopted the writer€™s room method of putting together shows instead of the traditional €œHead Booker€ role that was once the norm. The problem, and the difference between WWE and shows such as The Wire and Breaking Bad, is that WWE lacks any longterm direction. If a PPV does a poor buy rate or someone from NXT doesn€™t immediately connect with fans, then plans get thrown at the window and talent gets pushed to the bottom of the card. The success of The Attitude Era is often attribute to Vince McMahon€™s faith in his vision and recognising that everything wasn€™t going to change overnight, but he seems to have abandoned this philosophy. WWE TV is written week to week, and scripts are constantly being rewritten right up until that segment is due to air, which is no way to run a television show. Fans can€™t have faith in WWE if the people that make it don€™t seem to either, and it's readily apparent whenever an episode of Raw has been hastily cobbled together as opposed to thoroughly planned. WWE needs to spend more time thinking about the future and less time worrying about the specific wording of an Adam Rose promo.
