10 Reasons WWE Are In A Battle With Their Own Fans

8. Fans Are "Smart"

One of the most recent problems of the past decade or so, is the €œsmartening-up€ of fans. As more and more aspects of professional wrestling become exposed to the public and kayfabe has well and truly died, fans start to think that they know best when it comes to how a wrestling show should be put together. In the past, fans accepted that what they saw in the ring was real, even if they knew it wasn€™t. Fans of the seventies and eighties often knew that wrestling was scripted and staged, but went along with it because it was fun entertainment and they enjoyed the athleticism. Today, that isn€™t enough for many fans, and people argue that certain wrestlers are being booked too strong or that others are being buried by the higher-ups. It€™s a language that people outside of wrestling don€™t really have any business talking in and often shows disrespect to the people putting their bodies on the line to entertain them. Movie fans don€™t think to tell Spielberg what camera angle to use and music fans don€™t suggest beats to Kanye West, so why is it that wrestling fans think they know better than Vince McMahon who has been doing this his whole life?
