10 Rey Mysterio Dream Matches In WWE And 5 That Already Happened Elsewhere

14. TJP

While a match between Mysterio and TJP would still be a dream, the two have already stood across the ring from each other. As the masked Manik character from TNA Wrestling, TJP took part in a tag team match during a tour of Mexico in 2015. In Tijuana, Mysterio teamed with Xtreme Tiger against the team of Manik and Perro Aguayo Jr.

What should have been a shining moment of TJP’s career at that time quickly turned into a tragedy, however, when his partner Aguayo passed away during the match. Rey dropkicked the founder of the Los Perros del Mal stable into the ropes. TJP then landed beside him and seemed to quickly realize something was wrong. Luckily, Mysterio's 619 missed both men, but as he and TJP continued to fight, Aguayo dropped to the mat.

Officials at ringside began to work on the prone luchador before carrying him to the back, and a visibly shaken Mysterio knelt in the ring. Later medical examinations attributed the death to a cervical stroke when multiple vertebrae in his neck were fractured. It was a terribly unfortunate end to what should have been a dream encounter between four of wrestling’s best.
