10 Solutions To The Hot Mess That Is WWE Creative

1. Just Get Rid Of Vince

Just get rid of him. This is a one-point list, looking at things nihilistically. The man is the head vampire sucking the lifeblood out of his own product.

The Kevin Owens 365 Network special was morbidly fascinating. After Kevin Owens wrestled a "meh" match with Chris Jericho at WrestleMania 33, he sought Vince's opinion in Gorilla. "Are we good?" Owens asked, captured by the documentary cameras.

"No," came McMahon's stern reply.

In response, Owens looked like Charlie Brown. The man's grasp of his character is so good, so certain that, prior to Sunday, he was destined to enjoy a run as a career heel. This one gut-punching moment might as well have turned him face. His programme with Chris Jericho, even after the perfect Festival of Friendship angle, may not have been worthy of 'Mania's main event - but the demotion just confirmed to the fanbase that they weren't really worth the investment. That match McMahon hated so much, like all WWE matches of note, would not have survived the oppressive regulation of road agents. It wasn't badly botched, nor entirely listless - it was simply gutted of its aura, and designed by committee.

Vince McMahon is a genius - but the events of this week in WWE confirm that his tyranny is his defining trait in 2017. He remains a superb promotor, but he has lost his touch. He is praised ahead of a pay-per-view and damned after the credits roll. Rinse and repeat.

Nothing is going to change until he goes.
