10 Things WWE Fans Need To Know About Abyss

10. He Was Impact's Longest-Serving Worker

'The Monster' Abyss didn't actually debut in TNA until the summer of 2003. Before that, the big man worked as Chris Justice (quickly shortened to Justice), and even appeared on the promotion's first ever weekly pay-per-view a full year before donning the mask.

There, he competed in a 'Gauntlet For The Gold' main event alongside names such as Scott Hall, Ken Shamrock, Rick Steiner and Jeff Jarrett. Remarkably, Abyss would outlast all of those guys, and do the same to fellow TNA originals like AJ Styles.

By the time thoughts turned to 2019, Abyss had long-since become Impact's longest-tenured worker.

It's a bit mad to think that, aside from a brief spell in 2014 when he was renegotiating his contract, the man worked constantly for the company. He was there in the early days, lived through the Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff revolution, survived the more meagre years and didn't leave until recently.
