10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Rey Mysterio

5. He Might Be The Worst Booked World Champ Of All Time

Thanks to the always reliable Internet Wrestling Database website, it's easy to look up the match results of Mysterio from when he was World Champion the first time. Here's a look at results of some of the match results that Mysterio had after April 2, 2006 when he won the World Title: DQ loss to Kurt Angle, pinfall loss to Mark Henry, pinfall loss to Great Khali, countout loss to Angle, pinfall loss to Finlay and pinfall loss to RVD. There was also that No Contest draw with Sabu at ECW One Night Stand 2006 too. Even though he was the World Champion, he lost six times on television in non-title matches and four of those losses were by pinfall. How many WWE or World Champions have lost that many times in non-title matches? It doesn't happen often at all. We see it for other titles all the time, but for a major title it's not supposed to be a common thing. Another point about Rey's title reign is that when he was holding the WHC, they made sure not to say he was the World "Heavyweight" Championship because Vince McMahon or somebody decided using the word "Heavyweight" was bad with Rey holding the gold. They are really obsessed with size.
