10 WCW Storylines That Were Totally Abandoned

3. The White Hummer

WCW was in a bad way in 1999, as the World Wrestling Federation was leaving it way behind in the Monday Night Wars. Heck, you couldn’t really call them wars anymore, with the battle closer resembling the titanic struggle between man and half dead moth.

In an attempt to resurrect itself, WCW felt that the way to go would be to introduce something of a ‘whodunnit?’ angle, involving some of its top starts. It started when ‘Macho Man’ Randy Savage’s ladies Gorgeous George and Miss Madness lured Kevin Nash into a limo, only to get out allowing Savage to speed off. At this point Savage parks the limo, and a mysterious white hummer rams into the side of it.

Savage went on to claim that he was to unveil a new bodyguard, but of course this never happened. Eight months later a serious sense of déjà vu came over WCW as Hulk Hogan’s limo was smashed up by the same white hummer. This time the driver was revealed however, and it turns out it was Rikishi!

Wait, no, sorry, it was Eric Bischoff. It was never confirmed, but the assumption was that Bischoff had rammed Nash whilst driving the white hummer eight months earlier, although by the time he was revealed he had just helped Nash win the world title. I don’t know.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
