10 WWE Moments You Never Thought You'd See (But Did In 2017)

10. Shinsuke Nakamura Pins John Cena And Randy Orton

The King of Strong Style has had a disappointing year on the main roster.

Shinsuke Nakamura was moved into a feud with Jinder Mahal over the summer, being subjected to constant racial discrimination from the Modern Day Maharaja in some of the worst TV segments of the year. To make matters worse, Mahal won the feud. Being a racist heel in WWE often pays off.

In order to get those matches with Jinder, Shinsuke Nakamura had to do what few men have done in the modern history of WWE. Nakamura faced off against John Cena and Randy Orton respectively, and was able to defeat both. He also managed to beat both clean as a whistle, in the centre of the ring.

WWE fans will have had conflicting hopes about how WWE was going to book Nakamura on the main roster. If the Jinder stuff is ignored, not even the most optimistic of Swagsuke fans could see him defeating the two modern pillars of WWE within six months of joining the main roster.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
