10 WWE Wrestlers Who Were Better In TNA

TNA almost created one of their few own stars (as much as one can be a star in the company) when they had Tomko. The man was never a great wrestler, but he had a Batista like demeanor in that he had an aura of coolness about him, that could help him grow from the role of a bodyguard to a popular babyface.

In WWE, Tomko was a great addition to Christian’s act as The Problem Solver. Management didn’t see too much in Captain Charisma, though, so the two didn’t enjoy a lot of success, despite being an entertaining act. They were eventually drafted to different shows, and Tomko wallowed in the mid-card before being released.

After Christian joined TNA, it was only a matter of time before the two reunited. This time they were positioned near the top of the card. Tomko captured tag team gold with A.J. Styles in The Christian Coalition, and a HHH/Batista-esque storyline began with Tomko tiring of his leaders actions. The fans started to rally behind the former bodyguard, and wanted to see him finally snap and beat the hell out of his boss.

However, in classic Vince Russo fashion, his big face turn was all just a big swerve as Tomko went right back to being a background character. Still, he almost made it as a singles competitor, and achieved a lot more success than he ever did in WWE.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
