11 Major WWE Superstars That Hated Kurt Angle

It's true, it's true... Kurt Angle wasn't always that popular.

Kurt Angle is one of the greatest pro wrestlers of all time. If it hadn't been for a neck injury that curtailed his WWE career, he'd probably be considered the definite best of all time. As it happened, he had to leave the company in 2006, as his neck became too much of an issue to perform a full schedule with. The truth of it was that Kurt had became hooked on prescription painkillers and alcohol to soothe his failing body. When reports emerged in '06 that the Olympian was having to be wheeled through airports on luggage haulers, the WWE knew they needed to act. They had a great talent, but outside of the ring he could barely function. They let him go. Those were some depressing days to be a wrestling fan. Eddie Guerrero had died a year earlier and reports suggested that Kurt was on a 'death watch' in the WWE. He was very much in the same intensity of a Guerrero or a Benoit. Those two men ended up dead, but Kurt ended up as a part timer in TNA. He managed to (eventually) clean his life up and is a survivor in some respects. His legacy in WWE will endure. The company recently snubbed the chance to bring him back, but he'll always be remembered as one of their best workers. It was a shame when he left for TNA, but he did do some great work in that group, notably against Samoa Joe. He's an icon in the industry. Given how his career went, he inevitably made some enemies on the way. This list will look at people who at one point or another had an axe to grind with Angle. Even from my point of view, as a big Angle fan, he's a frustrating guy. It is almost a tragic story. This man started out cleaner than clean, never drinking and working like an engine to achieve Olympic Glory. It is kind of sad how he ended up a drunk in a little watched pro wrestling group.
