16 Things We Learned From Mark Henry On Talk Is Jericho

9. Working Out With Vince

Jericho inquires if Henry has ever worked out with his boss and he replies that he has and that Vince "kicked his *ss." He says the reason is the amount of reps that Vince does, pointing out that Henry himself is an anabolic lifter who doesn't do 50 reps at a time. McMahon, on the other hand, does supersets with massive amounts of repetitions. Several other wrestlers have mentioned Vince's obsessive need to be able to outwork his wrestlers in the gym, so it's no surprise that he would want to test himself against the world's strongest man. Henry tells a story from a couple of years ago where the two hit the gym together. After a show in New Haven, Henry and McMahon took to the weights to work on backs and biceps. He said that they did 50-100 reps of a various amount of exercises and he didn't realize at the time that his boss was trying to rib him by making him quit. Mark said his competitive drive wouldn't let him lose though and he pushed on, until the next day when Vince finally broke down and admitted that he could barely move and the rib wound up being on him. Henry clearly thinks highly of Vince and says when he passes away it should be a national holiday.
