4 Ups And 8 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Aug 28)

3. Rushing The Feud?

There’s a lot to unpack from the epic Roman Reigns/John Cena promo, but let’s start with a quick negative.

Does anyone else feel like WWE is rushing this match to the forefront? Was there an edict that No Mercy has to be a packed PPV to right the ship? We knew from last week that Cena came to Raw to confront Reigns, but wouldn’t it have been bigger and better if we had to wait a little longer? Perhaps Cena has to tangle with Samoa Joe (who attacked Cena last week) first.

Jumping right to this feud felt a bit rushed, and while the promo itself was eye-opening, that doesn’t mean that it was the right move. Instead of being something that fans are clamoring for due to some miscommunications and run-ins, we just jumped right to the match one week after the initial confrontation.
