7 Last-Minute WWE PPV Replacements That Rocked

6. Survivor Series 1993 – Shawn Michaels

Sometimes, life interferes in a very strange way.

The WWF has spent a good amount of 1993 building a feud between Jerry “The King” Lawler and Bret “The Hitman” Hart. The basis over the feud was Hart winning the 1993 King of the Ring tournament, and Lawler contending that there can only be one (Highlander, er…) king in the WWF.

The feud expanded to include the entire Hart family, while Lawler recruited three knights to join him in an elimination Survivor Series match.

But then life intervened. Lawler was accused of rape – a charge later dropped because the victim fabricated the story. But the damage was done, and Lawler was out, and Shawn Michaels was in.

Sure, it made little to no sense for Michaels to feud with Hart, but when you’re back’s against the wall, you’ve gotta do something.
