7 Last-Minute WWE PPV Replacements That Rocked

5. In Your House 4 (1995) – Razor Ramon

This would be a great case study in how it’s not what you know, it’s who you know.

Shawn Michaels was heading into In Your House 4 as the Intercontinental Champion and scheduled to face Dean Douglas for the title. However, in the lead-up to the event, HBK got beat up in real life and could not compete at the PPV.

Rather than simply canceling the match, Douglas was awarded the IC title via forfeit. But Douglas would not be allowed to leave the ring with the championship. He was forced to defend his newly received title against Razor Ramon, a real-life close friend of Michaels.

And as fate would have it, Ramon beat Douglas in about 10 minutes, leaving Douglas with the dubious distinction of one of the (if not the) shortest title reign in the pre-Money in the Bank briefcase era.
