7 Times John Cena Was A Terrible Human

4. RIP The Nexus

For one hot minute, the angle with the Nexus was the hottest thing WWE had come across in a very long time. They made their debut by attacking CM Punk and Luke Gallows at the end of RAW, ripping the set apart and generally inspiring awe in the audience. Unfortunately, they also attacked John Cena. Wade Barrett and co should have known better.

A few months of ridiculous stipulation matches followed, before Cena's job was up for grabs as the special referee in a world title match between Barrett and champion Randy Orton. If Barrett didn't win, Cena was gone. Orton retained so Cena, as per the stipulation he agreed to, was fired. Except he wasn't really, as he turned up week after week, jumped the barricade and assaulted members of the Nexus. Sure, fictional TV show, but for a man who preaches respect so harshly he seems to have a hard time respecting his own circumstances.

Which led to a match between Barrett and Cena at TLC in 2010. After winning the match, Cena proceeds to place Barrett under a wooden cart of some sort, and then drops some 23 chairs onto him.

Is this the action of a man who rises above hate? Is this the message our children must hear? 'Don't worry children, if you find yourself in certain circumstances you can always just ignore them, and then get OTT revenge on whoever it is that's bothering you. Rise above hate!'

John Cena, heroic valiant babyface John Cena, should be better than this. We all have weaknesses I suppose, and maybe we should forgive Cena this one transgression. Except, this wasn't the only example of our mighty knight going too far after a match...

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
