7 Ups And 8 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Oct 12th)

Another week, another wedding proposal. Meanwhile Kane subs for himself. No, really.

The limp through the fall continued Monday night, as Raw rolled into the always-hot Chicago and managed to turn in a mediocre program. There wasn€™t anything horrifically bad, but when the biggest development of the night is that a couple got engaged during a John Cena-Dolph Ziggler United States Championship match, then that€™s really saying something. It felt like WWE was afraid to really drop a major angle or swerve on a notoriously lively crowd, choosing to nudge storylines along without any bombshells. There was no Brock, no Taker, no Shawn Michaels and no Ric Flair €“ although all four apparently will be on next week€™s edition of Raw! If WWE is swinging for the fences next week, then the company executed a sacrifice bunt Monday, trying to advance the runners without taking a big risk €“ which also means little reward. The Authority ran late to Raw for the umpteenth time €“ maybe they couldn€™t find anything pink to wear for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Paige stole a candy bar. The Road Warriors got a nod. Roman Reigns got lost in the ring. The New Day entertained. And Kane substituted himself with himself in a match. All of this will barely be remembered or be consequential in the weeks ahead, which speaks volumes to what WWE is churning out these days. So what should be celebrated and what should be commiserated from Raw? Let€™s get to it€

He fortunately became a fan in time for WrestleMania III and came back as a fan after a long high school hiatus before WM XIV. Monday nights in the Carlson household are reserved for viewing Raw -- for better or worse.
