8 Biggest Missed Opportunities From WWE Hell In A Cell 2018

Should have, would have, could have. Didn't.

The superstars of Raw and SmackDown took a trip down that fiery highway on Sunday night for the 10th annual Hell in a Cell PPV and, let's just say the results weren't pretty. By the end of the night, bodies were broken, tables were in pieces and even the cell door had been caved in - and those were just the good parts.

On a night that WWE's resident daredevil once again defied gravity, four of the company's most talented stars breathed new life into the red brand's flailing tag team division. Unfortunately for the WWE Universe, it wasn't all good - quite a portion of the event was hampered by bad booking, recycled story moves and a downright baffling ending that destroyed one beloved superstar's momentum.

There's a strong case to be made for Hell in a Cell being WWE's best PPV of the year so far, but that doesn't necessarily mean that it was great. While there was undoubtedly a lot to love about the event, it's hard to deny that WWE dropped the ball on a number of occasions throughout the hellacious evening.

8. No Triple H/Undertaker Appearance

The Undertaker and Triple H are destined to collide for the "last time ever" at WWE Super Show-Down next month in Melbourne, Australia, and WWE hasn't missed a chance to promote it... until now. While they have had both legends (along with Shawn Michaels) show up on Raw talking about the upcoming event, and have constantly run vignettes about the match, it would have been even better if one (or both of the competitors) showed up an Hell in a Cell.

Super Show-Down is the company's next PPV, so it would have been totally believable for the creative team to craft a segment to promote it. Furthermore, given that it was Hell in a Cell of all events, an appearance from The Undertaker or Triple H would have made sense. Not only are both men the two greatest warriors in Hell in a Cell history, their last meeting actually took place inside the 'Devil's Playground'.

While this won't affect Super Show-Down at all, it would have been a logical move to promote the next PPV and, given the cell's history with both men, using its relevance to further the feud would have made a lot more sense than Triple H's bizarre End Of An Era promo from Raw a few weeks back.
