8 WCW PPVs For Newbies To Watch On WWE Network

8. SuperBrawl II 1992

WWE.comWWE.comThe opening match on this show is one of the best WCW matches ever. It saw "Flyin'" Brian Pillman beat Jushin Liger for the short lived WCW Light Heavyweight Championship. It's one of those matches that set the standard for the kind of cruiserweight wrestling that would become the best part of WCW in the mid 1990s. The match is an incredible display of athleticism that ends with a Pillman cradle for the title. It's awesome. A couple of tag matches that were also great as Barry Windham and Dustin Rhodes beat Steve Austin and Larry Zbyszko. It's amazing to see how great Dustin was over 20 years ago while the other three were consistently awesome. The other excellent tag saw Arn Anderson and Bobby Eaton take on the Steiner Brothers. It ended in a DQ, but was still awesome. Two singles matches that were pretty good saw Ron Simmons over Cactus Jack in a match I completely forgot about, but it was cool to see two WWE Hall of Famers go at it like that with Simmons getting the win. Also, Paul E Dangerously (Heyman) helped Rick Rude beat Ricky Steamboat too, in another match that was strong. Tumblr N19qfamhsp1sg99p0o1 1280 In the main event, Sting beat Lex Luger to win the WCW World Title. It was a very average match. Luger ended up leaving WCW for the WBF (and then WWE), so it didn't look like he gave his best effort.
