It's fair to say that Goldberg's first WWE run was a bit naff. Completely misused in a series of matches which seemed almost designed to expose his weaknesses (specifically, his lack of any real wrestling acumen), Big Bill departed Stamford with his tail between his legs following the drastic WrestleMania XX washout with Brock Lesnar.

The fans in Madison Square Garden vociferously booed both stars that night, au fait with the fact the pair were there for one last pay cheque on their way out of the company. The very idea that the two would raise the roof in a rematch twelve years later was unfathomable.

But that's exactly what they did. The key the second time was keeping it short - very short. At Survivor Series 2016, Goldberg stunned Brock in just 90 seconds. You couldn't ask for more - or, realistically, less - from the match.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
