The first women's singles match at SummerSlam for a whole decade saw Diva's Champion Alicia Fox take on a recently-returned Melina, and the two put on a match that was fine but very 'WWE Diva's Division in 2010'. Everything was fairly well planned out and executed, but the dot-to-dot nature of it all guaranteed a lack of fluidity.

Alicia Fox was a strange choice for champion six years ago. She had only been an active competitor on the roster for a year or so, and had done little to nothing in that time other than try to take out Zack Ryder. If you think that is bad now, 2009 was a different kettle of fish entirely.

Melina picked up the win on her return from injury, possibly because Fox decided to target Melina's fine shoulder as opposed to her knackered leg. Next time, Foxy.
