9. Jung Dragons Vs. Three Count - Monday Nitro

In a roundabout way, the Jung Dragons and 3 Count were the highlight of WCW's final full year in business. They faced each other practically all of the time, yet always managed to make it somewhat exciting and fresh. 3 Count also represented the only time in his wrestling career that Tank Abbott was truly interesting!

However, their first ladder match encounter in World Championship Wrestling took place on Monday Nitro in July 2000, and is absolutely forgettable in every way. Well, I say every way, one major thing sticks out about this match; it runs less than three minutes.

Now, I like a bit of realism now and then. and in reality a ladder match could feasibly end three minutes in, but it was a clear sign of how little importance WCW gave to anything by this point. The match was for a 'recording contract', and I don't really want to write about that.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
