25. MVP Vs. The Big Show - SmackDown 2009

I think this one may have suffered from a degree of over-saturation, because MVP’s meeting with the Big Show came just a week removed from the Triple H vs. Show match that I just covered.

Still, they at least had a go at making the best of a less-than-ideal situation. An added stipulation here meant that if Big Show won, Triple H would lose his spot in the Royal Rumble, with Vickie Guerrero selecting MVP to represent the Game on account of his long losing streak.

Admittedly, it made for a fun moment when MVP would overcome the odds and pick up the win (with a helping hand from Tripe H of course).

Going back to that point about overs-aturation, this was to be the fifth Last Man Standing match that we’d seen in the space of just three short months. By this point, I’m not sure anyone was desperate to see another contest of its kind, especially when that contest was pitting MVP against the Big Show.
