26. The Big Show Vs. Triple H - SmackDown 2009

When Triple H poked fun at SmackDown GM Vickie Guerrero, he must have known he was asking for trouble. And that trouble soon arrived when he was booked into a series of “Triple Jeopardy” matches - a Table, Handicap and finally a Last Man Standing match, all in the space of a single night.

Naturally, the story here would be that Triple H was feeling the effects of a hard night’s work, and so in the closing stages of his match with Big Show, it almost seemed like it was a matter of time before The Game would taste defeat.

Still, he managed to put in an admirable shift and a fight, and at least stirred up some drama late on by breaking a few counts at the last moment possible.

Ultimately though, this one very much felt like the SmackDown, non-title match-up that it was. Given the calibre of some of the other Last Man Standing bouts we’ve seen over the years, that’s just not enough to place it any higher than this.
