10. Money In The Bank - Randy Orton Vs Shelton Benjamin

Money in the Bank is a huge ‘get’ for Smackdown LIVE, since it has arguably become one of WWE’s most important PPVs – almost a Royal Rumble mark 2. The Money in the Bank Ladder Match itself will not be the show’s main event, because fans need to be convinced that a cash in could believably take place on the same night, as it did at last year’s PPV.

Instead, the top spot goes to Randy Orton and a returning Shelton Benjamin, who has appeared as a surprise opponent at the behest of Kurt Angle. After finally mopping up the Wyatt Famly, who have moved on to other feuds across the card, Orton is without an opponent, while six of the brand’s top stars (Styles, Corbin, Ambrose, Ziggler, Miz, Crews) duke it out in the eponymous ladder match. Benjamin returns so that Orton can defend his title, and in doing so finally gets his opportunity at main event gold.

After a hard fought contest between former peers, Orton picks up the win, but as he celebrates with the title, AJ Styles emerges from the back. Having won the Money in the Bank match earlier in the night (after being refused further title matches by a bitter Shane McMahon until this point), AJ clutches the briefcase, and simply smiles…
