Predicting Every WWE PPV 2017 Main Event After WrestleMania
9. Bad Blood - Samoa Joe Vs Brock Lesnar
Bad Blood is back, albeit this time with the odds of seeing any gooey red stuff significantly reduced. Still, there are some heavy hitters making the rounds on Monday Night RAW at this point, so Bad Blood could well be the dark horse of this PPV year.
Since Bad Blood served as the birthplace of Hell in a Cell – and WWE loves referencing/repeating history – it wouldn’t be surprising to see a Hell in a Cell match take place on the card, perhaps between an increasingly frustrated Kevin Owens and his rival Finn Balor. But in the main event itself, Samoa Joe takes on Brock Lesnar for the WWE Universal Championship, with Triple H and Paul Heyman watching intently from ringside.
It’s a technical-powerhouse clinic of suplexes and submissions, but Samoa Joe comes out on top after a hard fought battle. It’s the right move, as it puts Triple H’s faction on the top of the mountain, and puts the belt itself on a more permanent, full-time talent. At this point, lines are clearly drawn between Triple H’s new breed of Superstars, and those trying to resist his tyrannical reign.
