While it was cool to see Chris Jericho return to WWE on the premier episode of Raw in 2016, he needed to be back with a purpose. It was teased the last time we saw him that he'd be feuding with Dean Ambrose, but those plans went out the window when AJ Styles shockingly signed with the company and debuted in the Royal Rumble match.

Their brief interaction in that match planted the seeds for a future feud between the two, but first, they put their differences aside and joined the tag team ranks. With wins over The Social Outcasts and The New Day, they quickly earned themselves a WWE Tag Team Championship match on the March 7 Raw.

Collectively known as Y2AJ, they worked as well together as teammates as they did as rivals. They found instant chemistry and contested a classic with New Day where they were close to capturing the twin titles. Once they were unsuccessful, Jericho promptly turned on Styles and cemented his long awaited heel turn.

Could Y2AJ have had a longer shelf life? Sure, but it's hard to complain about getting another excellent one-on-one match between the two at WrestleMania 32. A dream team fans never thought they would see.
