Carlito and Primo had the potential to be a strong set of tag team champions when they unified the WWE and World Tag Team Championships at WrestleMania XXV, but the tag team division was nearly nonexistent by that point. Nothing would change until WWE put the straps on two individuals fans cared about. Enter Edge and Chris Jericho.

The devious duo joined forces on a whim at 2009's The Bash pay-per-view when they threatened then-general manager Teddy Long to give them what they wanted. Thus, they were placed in the night's tag title match and went on to win the gold.

The plan from the start was for the two to rule the division before splitting up and facing off at WrestleMania XXVI. They were just getting comfortable as partners when Edge suffered a serious injury that would sideline him from action for up to a year. Although they were still able to feud upon The Rated-R Superstar's return to the ring in the Royal Rumble, the injury deprived us of what would have been a tremendous team.

It was a fantastic combination of SmackDown's two top heels, and they surely would have brought the tag team scene to new heights had Edge not gotten hurt when he did. Regardless, it was a lot of fun for the few weeks it lasted.
