this past week we reported that following yet another surgery on his knees Rey Mysterio's days as a WWE Superstar may be coming to an end. As reported Mysterios career which started when he was just 14 years old has been plagued by injury ever since leaving World Championship Wrestling and joining the WWE an obvious result of the high risk, high flying style that made him one of the top Cruiserweight's in the world and a feature attraction during the Monday Night Wars. As a result Rey Rey has had to develop a more ground based approach to his matches but still takes to the top rope on occasion perhaps further aggravating his list of nagging injuries. If Mysterio takes WWE officials advice and considers winding his career down the company will be left with a huge gap in their Hispanic market as well as a gap Mysterio fills with his sky high merchandise sales among the younger audiences. Currently WWE are positioning Alberto Del Rio as the top Mexican baby face but even if he is successful there's still call for a masked Superstar to tear the house down every week on television. With that in mind What Culture looks at 5 possible replacements for the former World Heavyweight (no joke) Champion when and if he hangs up his boots for good.
