8 HUGE Predictions For WWE 2K24

How does a literal Showcase of the Immortals sound?

Two years into WWE2K's comeback from video game ignominy, it's a welcome feeling to be legitimately hyped about the upcoming entry.

After WWE2K22 resuscitated the series' flatlining reputation, last year's entry continued the comeback and ensured that WWE2K remained the premier choice for fans of digital wrestling. (Apologies to Fight Forever fans, but AEW's maiden game never rose above feeling like a solid first draft).

As the wrestling word gears up for next week's first look at WWE2K24, it's tempting to think about what 2K Games have been working on for the past year. And frankly, it's a temptation this writer is all to happy to indulge in!

As the title of this article implies, none of the ideas on this list should be taken as gospel. Instead, the following is a collection of logical guesses, considered ideas and hail mary hopes about WWE2K24. (Because let's face it, the last game was great fun but still far from perfect).

But before the nitpicking starts, let's get to the good stuff. Starting with a wrestler who absolutely no-one has a bad word to say about...

8. CM Punk DLC

Yes, wrestling's least controversial superstar will definitely be making his way to WWE2K24, but it won't be until a few months after the game's release.

For 2K Games, Punk's surprise return represents something of an unexpected windfall - like a prodigal son returning and bringing the fatted calf with him. Punk's shocking return at Survivor Series happened far too late in the day for him to be included in 2K24 at launch, but there's no way 2K Games will be dense enough to just sit on him until next year's release. As such, expect him to be brought in as WWE DLC ASAP. OK?

Acronyms aside, 2K Games would be wise to make use of Punk while they still can. Given Punk's history of injuries and, shall we say, "passionate outbursts", there's no telling how many years Punk and WWE will remain on good term, so it's hard to begrudge 2K Games wanting to make hay while the sun still shines on the Straight Edge Superstar.

Although if you absolutely have to stick it to the man and refuse to pay for Punk's DLC, WWE2K's world-class character creator should have you covered.
