Ranking Every WWE WrestleMania Main Event - From Worst To Best

37. Kevin Owens vs Steve Austin (WrestleMania 38, Night 1)

It was impossible to not feel stoked for Kevin Owens as he headlined his first WrestleMania against the most popular pro wrestler of all time. Owens is one of the most enjoyable performers of his generation. Lovable as a babyface, and deplorable as a heel, it rarely felt that the powers that be at WWE valued him as much as fans, from indie snobs to families who only know sports entertainment.

With WrestleMania 38 heading to AT&T Stadium in Steve Austin's home state of Texas, Owens spent months goading 'The Texas Rattlesnake' in various brilliant ways. From defacing murals to impersonating 'Stone Cold', Owens would spend week after week doing various dastardly acts in the name of provoking 'Stone Cold' to show at 'The Grandest Stage of Them All'.

Entering the stadium to a chorus of boos at the end of Night 1, Owens presented a WrestleMania Main Event edition of The Kevin Owens Show. Continuing to insult the state of Texas and 'Stone Cold' himself, Austin finally appeared to a pop that sounded like an injury-time winner in a World Cup Final. Owens confessed that he didn't want Steve as a guest on his show; he instead wanted to offer him a No Holds Barred Match, which 'Stone Cold' promptly accepted. The match itself didn't really matter, because you'd have to have a heart of stone not to love Austin enjoying one more round and KO fulfilling his childhood dream.
