8. Robin II: Joker's Wild

Young Justice Peter David
DC Comics

Robin Vol. 2 was a limited series that gave us the badass Tim Drake we all really wanted. As most know, before Tim Drake became Robin, Jason Todd was holding that role down. He was sadly killed by the Joker, leading to Drake becoming Robin with a different type of treatment from Batman.

However, Drake was often the most trusted of all Boy Wonders due to his incredible detective abilities. Joker’s Wild puts that trust to the test, as Bruce Wayne goes out of town with Gotham needing to be protected by Robin while he is away.

In the story, the Joker escapes prison, forcing the bat signal to go up with Robin answering Commissioner Gordon’s call. Jim is noticeably worried, as Robin is all that stands between Joker and full out mayhem in Gotham.

Tim and Alfred then hatch a plan to make Joker assume Batman is still in Gotham. Meanwhile, Drake has to find a way to take the Clown Prince of Crime down. To many, though, this is the story-arc where Tim won everyone over.

In Joker's Wild, we see a badass Robin who is willing to put everything on the line, including his own life, to take down The Joker.
