Punisher Kills the Marvel Universe is one of the barmiest stories Garth Ennis has ever told, in which the vigilante actually takes on and kills all of Marvel's biggest heroes and villains.

Set on an alternate Earth where Frank Castle's family were killed in the crossfire of a superhero-villain fight gone awry, he adopts the mantle of the Punisher to kill every hero and villain out there, starting with the X-Men and the Brotherhood.

Luring both parties to the moon, Castle uses one of Doctor Doom's nukes to kill them all in one fell swoop. While this is part and parcel for an alternate reality story, the fact that Castle was able to acquire one of these weapons is just beyond hokey.

Still think he's a hero?
