Speculation has been fervent around this area, too, with Avalon most obviously recalling the time-traveling mutant soldier Cable's orbital space station, previously owned by Magneto. More likely, though, is that Marvel are again pulling from one of their more obscure titles and breathing new life into the setting of Avataars: Covenant Of The Shield, a particularly imaginative (and bizarre) series set inn a sword and sorcery version of the Marvel Universe that was due to be published over twelve issues, only to be cancelled after three. Finally, Captain Avalon (America) and the Champions of the Realm (the Avengers) ride again!
