The Walking Dead Season 6: 7 Things You Need To Know About Negan
It's pronounced 'KNEE-gan'.
The Walking Dead season 6 is just around the corner, and it's going to be bringing with it more threats than ever before. Rick's group have managed to survive this far, with just the odd (dozen) deaths along the way, but this year is really going to ramp up the risk factor.
Firstly, there's the walkers themselves. They haven't been a major threat for a while now, but that's set to change this year right from the off, with a hoard of over 600 undead set to launch on attack on Alexandria Safe-Zone, really putting that name to the test.
Then there are the Wolves, who as we know are 'not far'. They've been built-up to be pretty major antagonists this year, in the first half at least, and exactly what happens with them will be exciting to see. Finally, there's the small matter of whoever captured Daryl at the end of the season 6 trailer, as they didn't exactly look too friendly.
However, all of these pale in comparison next to the potential new big bad, the one comics fans have been waiting an awfully long time for, Negan. His appearance has been teased for sometime now, and heavy rumours along with a leaked casting call suggest he'll finally be appearing in season 6, and for numerous reasons that is incredibly exciting.
7. Lucille
There's a few pretty iconic weapons in The Walking Dead world. Think of Michonne, and you have her katana. Picture Daryl, and he probably has his crossbow with him. Morgan and his staff could reach those levels in season 6. But arguably none are as associated with their character as Lucille is with Negan.
Who's Lucille? Or rather, what's Lucille? Just his weapon of choice, a baseball bat wrapped in barbed wire. Look at almost any image of the character and he'll have it with him, either as a trusty sidekick or in the act of smashing in the skull of whoever gets in his way, be they walker or human.
The weapon seems to hold a special significance for him, and wherever Negan goes you can be sure Lucille will follow. There was actually an Easter egg in season 5 pointing to it (her?), with a baseball bat found in the mid-season premiere and later used to kill a walker.
