It felt like the entire planet was willing Cody Rhodes on to finish the damn story coming into Night 2 of WrestleMania 39.

'The American Nightmare' had masterfully established himself as the most obvious candidate in the company to take 'The Head of the Table's spot at the very top. And everything pointed to a legendary night for the adored blonde hero.

That was, until he stepped out on the entrance ramp inside of SoFi Stadium.

The crowd were well and truly behind their babyface, singing out Kingdom at the top of their lungs. But a performer known for wearing his heart on his sleeve seemed that little less enthusiastic than usual, especially for a wrestler walking into the biggest match of his life.

Everything from the painful stare Rhodes gave a brutal sign with the word "overrated" slapped on it, to the forced smile he continually pushed out in an attempt to keep spirits up, to even the way he emotionally interacted with his family and young Brodie Lee Jr. at ringside had fans fearing the worst before Roman Reigns had even hit the ring.

Sure enough, 35-minute epic minutes later, a defeated Rhodes was chilling with a chicken.
