Every Villain The Arrowverse Has Teased But Not Used
8. The Riddler
Paul Dano's version of the puzzle-obssessed Edward Nigma may be all the rage at the moment, but the Arrowverse may be able to flesh out a version of the Riddler that may be more comic-accurate and still as intriguing as his cinematic counterpart.
First alluded to in the Elseworlds crossover, viewers see an Arkham cell with a riddle on it that asks "What is blue and grey and red all over?" A more overt reference was made in Batwoman's first season, where it was revealed that Tommy Elliot/Hush learnt about Batman's true identity by paying an individual to "riddle me" the hero's secret persona.
The above event is a reference to the famous Batman: Hush comics storyline, where Riddler was the one to give Hush Batman's identity before they teamed up to take down the Caped Crusader.
Although Dano's interpretation means that the Arrowverse may not give the franchise a chance to feature Nigma, it is possible that we may see a legacy character ala Batwoman later down the road.
