2015 seems like it's shaping up to be a dinosaur year. Pixar's latest offering is an animated film called The Good Dinosaur, which exists in an alternate universe where the cataclysmic asteroid that allegedly wiped out the dinosaurs never hit earth. It's the present day, and dinosaurs and humans are both living on the planet together. Undoubtedly creationists will be using this film for generations as a documentary. The movie revolves around a teenage Apatosaurus named Arlo, who teams up with a human boy named Spot to bring back peace after a traumatic event rattles his community to its core. It stars Lucas Neff from Raising Hope as Arlo, and features Frances McDormand, John Lithgow, Neil Patrick Harris, Judy Greer, and Bill Hader as various members of his dinosaur family. We're so pleased that Pixar has begun to move away from their creatively bankrupt sequel machine that has been plaguing their company over the past few years, because when Pixar makes a movie with original material, they very rarely miss the mark.
