10 2016 Movies That Are Destined To Disappoint You
5. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out Of The Shadows
The Buzz: Though 2014's movie was a critically-panned disaster, there's a lot of hope online that this sequel, which replaces hack director Jonathan Liebesman with Earth to Echo's solid Dave Green, and introduces a ton of fan favourite characters such as Bebop (Gary Anthony Williams), Rocksteady (WWE's Sheamus), Casey Jones (Stephen Amell) and Baxter Stockman (Tyler Perry), while Laura Linney also inexplicably joins the cast. Above all else, hopefully Mikey's creepy lusting after April (Megan Fox) will be significantly toned down in this movie, which would almost be enough to make the film a win on its own. Why It's Going To Disappoint: At the end of the day, it's still a Michael Bay-produced movie and is going to have his stamp on it from start to finish. The best to hope for is a mild improvement over the original, but it's likely still going to have a ton of the same pitfalls: juvenile humour, inconsistent CGI, nonsensical plotting and cringe-worthy dialogue. After all, considering that the original almost cracked $500 million worldwide, why mess with the formula? The fanboys may be building this one up too much just because it seems a little more faithful to Turtles lore.
