2. Monique Junot - Better Off Dead
She's a fiesty French girl who has to pretend that she barely speaks English to avoid unwanted attention from the teenage boy in her American exchange family. While the accent might not be real (Monique was played by Diane Franklin, who is from New York), the charm is absolutely authentic. She's sweet, with an adorable smile, a great pitching arm, and a talent for fixing up cars. What's not to like? But the thing I like best about her is that she isn't just the generic hot girlfriend that shows up in a lot of 80s movies. She's actually an interesting character in her own right. And she brings out the best in her boyfriend Lane, which is all you can really ask for.
