10 Actors Who Were In Two Terrible Movies In 2023

2023 was not the best year for these movie actors.

Despite industry turmoil casting a dark cloud over the year, 2023 turned out to be a pretty decent year for movies in the end.

Barbie and Oppenheimer enticed people into the cinema for an all-day extravaganza, Mario showed that video game movies could actually be half-decent, and we also got to experience new efforts from masters like Martin Scorsese and David Fincher in Killers of the Flower Moon and The Killer respectively.

While this has been a bumper year for some, for every winner, there must unfortunately be a loser. Or, in this case, 10 losers. With 20 bad films between them.

Starring in one awful movie in a calendar year is rough enough, but doing the double is an especially unfortunate scenario for actors.

Not all of these flops were down to the actors mentioned. After all, it is possible to give a good performance whilst everything else around you collapses into a heap. Unfortunately, their solo work was not enough to raise these doomed projects out of the muck.

New Year's resolution for these guys - please pick better projects.

10. David Duchovny - You People & Pet Semetary: Bloodlines

Though most famous for not believing in aliens on TV, David "Fox Mulder" Duchovny has also spent his fair share of time on the big screen.

In 2023, he appeared in three feature-length films. One was a romantic comedy directed by and co-starring Meg Ryan, which received thoroughly underwhelming reviews from the critics. Unfortunately for Dave, this was his best effort all year.

In January, Duchovny appeared in another rom-com called You People, in which he played one of the main characters' father. The story of the film revolved around a man (Jonah Hill) and a woman (Lauren London) overcoming their cultural differences to have a relationship. While there was praise for some of the humour, You People also faced stern criticism for its portrayal of Jewish characters.

Then, in September, Duchovny was involved in the Paramount+ remake of Pet Semetary, subtitled Bloodlines. As is usually the case with do-overs of classic horrors, most people decided that Bloodlines didn't match up to the original, leaving it dead and buried.
