10 Actors Who Were In Two Terrible Movies In 2023
1. Chris Evans - Ghosted & Pain Hustlers
Chris Evans and Ana de Armas had great chemistry in Knives Out, so there was a chance that their pairing in action comedy Ghosted would yield some great results.
With de Armas as an ass-kicking superspy and Evans as her accidental companion, Ghosted had some nice ideas, but failed to execute them in an entertaining way. It ended up being much less than the sum of its parts, with audiences taking the collective decision to leave it on read.
Then came Pain Hustlers, which put Evans opposite another strong partner in Emily Blunt. The First Avenger plays a sleazy pharmaceutical rep who recruits Blunt for a shady mission, all under the direction of Harry Potter maestro, David Yates.
Sadly, despite the talent involved, Pain Hustlers ended up being a half-hearted stab at a very serious issue, failing to deal with the weight of the subject and collapsing under itself.
Nobody is saying that any of this is Evans' fault - because everyone is scared he'd beat them up - but post-Marvel outings like The Gray Man and the aforementioned duo of Ghosted and Pain Hustlers have largely failed to do his talents justice. Here's hoping he has some better material to work with in 2024.
