1. The House of Wax Melts (House Of Wax)
In what may be the most ridiculously over the top scene in horror movie history, after a horrific experience in a ghost town where the only proprietors kill passers-by and turn them in to waxwork models, two survivors find themselves battling the killers in the town's waxwork museum. It is established earlier in the movie that the wax museum is, quite literally, made from wax, so it's a miracle it hasn't melted in the sun after having existed for decades, but when a fire starts inside the museum it finally succumbs to heat. It begins to collapse in an insanely over the top fashion - the waxwork models melt, revealing the decomposed bodies underneath the outer layer (with cockroaches coming out of one in one instance), the upper floors melt, causing items to fall to the bottom floor and the very load-bearing walls that keep it upright start to melt, meaning that the whole thing is turning to a thick, sticky substance that resembles soft toffee. After having dispatched of the two killers, how do the protagonists escape? That's right; by digging through the melting walls with their bare hands. Utterly ridiculous.
