10 Absolutely Terrible B-Movies That Have Become Cult Classics

8. Samurai Cop

The title alone is fantastically awful, and the movie is even better. Directed, produced, and written by Amir Shervan, Samurai Cop tells the tale of Joe Marshall, a long-haired police officer who was trained in elite martial arts by "the masters in Japan" and is brought over to LA to deal with a Japanese drug gang causing chaos in California.

Filled with terrible acting, one of the most unintentionally hilarious car chases of all time, some astoundingly awful dialogue, very awkward sex scenes, and a whole lot of mullets, Samurai Cop is just one side-splitting moment after another.

Lead actor Matt Hannon, who had to wear a wig for several scenes after mistakenly cutting his hair when he thought shooting was finished, later revealed that Shervan refused to make any changes to the script, despite his relatively limited grasp of English, and would give the actors almost no preparation and very limited rehearsal time before shooting each scene.

The film was quickly forgotten about upon release but slowly amassed a cult following, leading to DVD and Blu-Ray re-releases in recent years, as well as a sequel, Samurai Cop 2: Deadly Vengeance, released in 2015.

Mike Pedley hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
