What's wrong with Troll 2? Well, to start off, the title is a total lie. There isn't a single troll in the whole film. The monsters featured in Troll 2 are actually goblins, and the film was originally called Goblins but was renamed for marketing purposes.

The movie is rife with hilariously awful moments, most notably the scene in which actor Darren Ewing puts on a masterclass in 'How not to act' while delivering the line: “They’re eating her! And then they’re going to eat me too! Oh my god!” The clip has been viewed millions of times on YouTube and has also been the subject of various memes, remixes, and parodies over the years.

The story behind the creation of Troll 2 is simply fascinating and played a big part in helping the film attract a cult following. Almost the entire crew were Italians who didn't know a word of English, while the cast was mostly made up of amateur actors.

With a script written in broken English, almost no budget whatsoever, and a complete lack of professionalism all around, Troll 2 is an embarrassing production, but it's also hilarious. Michael Stephenson, who starred in the film, later directed a successful documentary about it called Best Worst Movie and various midnight screenings have been held over the years with audience members shouting out lines and laughing along during the more ridiculous scenes.
