10 Acting Careers Destroyed By Great Movies

9. Rupert Grint - Pretty Much Every Harry Potter

The Film(s): The Harry Potter franchise is easily one of the biggest and most profitable in cinematic history, breaking a plethora of box office records on it's way to the stunning conclusion in 2011. Rupert Grint starred in the mammoth series as one of the three titular characters, Ron Weasley. The film series sent the 11 year old Englishman into super stardom, earning millions in the process before he'd even finished school (which was when he was just 16 by the way). What Happened Next: Grint has certainly taken the slow and steady route since the franchise wrapped up five years ago. The ginger wizard has since taken a few small live action roles as well as a couple of voice work parts here and there, albeit terribly received low budget ones. The biggest part of Grint's post Potter life seems to be his ice cream truck, which he drives around the streets of his home town in afternoons and gives free ice cream to kids in his neighbourhood, following his childhood passion to be an ice cream man. Seriously. As his colleagues go on to various projects in cinema and beyond, Rupert has spoken of his struggles to adapt after completing the Hogwarts journey, "I did go through an anxious period after Harry Potter ended. Of course I always knew it would come to an end. But it took some getting used to". What Now: Having not quite returned to a full time acting schedule as per his younger days, Grint has seemingly shied away from the spotlight and the pressure of the Hollywood aura he experienced as a junior. There is still plenty of time for the young man to find his feet as a mature actor in the industry.
