10 Action Stars Who Are Just Too Old

rocky6 There's a certain generation of film actors who epitomise the action hero stereotype, particularly from the 1980s and 1990s, when we had such films as An Eye For An Eye, First Blood, Conan The Destroyer, Lethal Weapon, Predator and Die Hard, which helped to launch a series of actors who are considered "Hollywood Legends" by today's standards. But as time moves on and wrinkles set in, and bones begin to creak and backs begin to ache, the time eventually comes for these actors to bow out gracefully from the fact-paced, relentless, frenetic pace of the action genre, right? Wrong! A lot of our favourite action heroes from the 1980s and 90s are still kicking around today. We have seen the resurrection of famed action franchises such as Rambo and Rocky in recent times, and even a fifth Die Hard movie, set to be released in three weeks time, will hit out screens some twenty five years after the original. Recently, The Expendables brought together an ensemble cast of all our favourite action heroes all in one place - we had Bruce Willis, Dolph Lundgren, even Arnold Schwarzenegger (Arnie!) and the thought occurred to me, as fun as the film was, isn't it time these guys bowed out of the action genre to usher in a new series of stars? The conclusion I reached was yes. Yes, they should. Here are 10 action stars that we believe are just too old to be gracing our screens as leading men these days.
