10 Actor/Director Team-Ups We Can't Believe Never Happened

2. David Lynch And Steve Buscemi

David Lynch Steve Buscemi David Lynch has a thing for faces, and in his world, it's the weirder the better. Which is why it's strange he never picked Steve Buscemi for a role, even though his offbeat style and "kinda funny-looking" features are a perfect fit for Lynch's messed-up universe. Just look how comfortable Lynch and Buscemi appear together in the above photo (Harry Dean Stanton's in there too, because, you know, he's in everything). Other sinister-looking Hollywood thesps, including Nicolas Cage, Dennis Hopper and Willem Dafoe, have all made it into Lynch films, but Buscemi never lucked out. Perhaps Buscemi will make the cut next time, when Lynch makes his follow-up to Inland Empire some time in the next 20 years.
