10 Actors And Directors Who Had Violent Confrontations

1. Val Kilmer Vs. Joel Schumacher

url-6 It's very doubtful that anyone has ever placed Val Kilmer in the list of actors who are easy to work with. He's had altercations on several different film sets, including an infamous incident where Kilmer allegedly used a cigarette to burn the face of a cameraman who angered him. The main reason Kilmer makes this list though was a feud with Batman Forever director, Joel Schumacher. According to Schumacher, Kilmer was being "irrational and ballistic" toward the first assistant director. Eventually Schumacher couldn't stand it anymore and he told him this would no longer be tolerated. Kilmer did not agree and this confrontation led to a physical shoving match between the two. The fallout extended for two weeks after the shoving match where both men refused to speak with each other. Schumacher later said of the two weeks that "it was bliss." It's also worth noting that Batman Forever would be Kilmer's only turn as the Caped Crusader as he decided not to return for Batman & Robin. Or rather as Schumacher described it, "He sort of quit and we sort of fired him." Ironically, George Clooney became the next Batman and the rest is history as Batman & Robin went on to be one of the worst reviewed films of all time and an unescapable embarrassment to Schumacher. Of course, Kilmer hasn't had any major roles since the 2010 flop MacGruber, so it's safe to say that both men have fallen on hard times since the Batman Forever days. Like this list?
