10 Actors That Aren't Nearly As Well-Known As They Should Be

2. Stephen Dorff

Lff13 How many of you watched Somewhere (2010)? I thought not. As quiet and inactive as Somewhere is, the entire thing is worth watching just to see Stephen Dorff manage to read out the long list of problems that surround celebrity without saying a word. Throughout the entire film the subtleties and discrepancies of Dorff's movie star character Johnny Marco are perfectly spelled out in slight facial twitches, minor arm movements, and blank stares. He says very little for most of it and doesn't need to. The project could have flopped easily seeing as not that much happens, but Stephen Dorff manages to pull it off, somehow without doing an awful lot. Maybe that's the key. It does feel like Dorff hasn't yet had the chance to really show what he's got to a wider audience, but he's been around as long as any number of stars but has only half the fame. Excitingly enough he's starring alongside Emile Hirsch in the previously mentioned Motel Life (2012), which (to put it bluntly) looks bitchin.
